FORAY Oasis 2016

unspecified-7

Foray hosted our inaugural Coachella weekend last week!! After months of literal blood, sweat and tears getting together the money, caterers, venue, performers, the list goes on and on.. it felt SO good to pull it all off! In case you weren’t following along via Insta, Foray invited a group of twenty blogger babes (and their guests) to an Indio estate for the first weekend of Coachella. Our usual gang came along (Racquel Natasha, Alana Greszata, Evelina, Jill Wallace, Jessi Malay, Kelsey White, Alden Steimle) and we were joined by several new, awesome friends (Paola Alberdi, Cara Santana, Hannah Stocking, Madi Louch, Gabby Epstein, Frances Lola, to name a few)! We kicked off the weekend with a killer pool party we called “FORAY Oasis.” Over 200 of our favorite bloggers and friends attended, and Brody and Amy Pham kept the party going with on-point DJ sets!!

At the party, guests were spoiled with gifts and activations from some of our favorite brands. Cosmedix set up mini facials for the girls to enjoy each morning throughout the weekend. They were accompanied by PUR Cosmetics who offered complimentary makeup applications. If you haven’t tried either of these lines out yet I would highly recommend it! They’re holistic and cruelty-free. I instantly fell in love with PUR’s eye shadow, and I’ve been using Cosmedix hydrating mist and soothing serum every day since Coachella.
t3 and Glam App set up a braid bar for all the girls. The braid bar was part of an outdoor beauty bungalow sponsored by BeSocial PR, which was definitely the most popular part of the event (you can see our braids in many of the photos below)! Within the bungalow, guests enjoyed fresh coconut water from Kopari, sunglasses from Eye Buy Direct, and bikinis from FERN and iPanema.
The party was complete with an outdoor shower by frank body, a floral wall and flipbook photo booth courtesy of Tinder, and a hydration lounge by CORE water. Corkcicle provided tumblers to keep our Patrón and Reyka cocktails chilled for up to 12 hours, so guests drinks stayed icy cold while their hands remained warm!
The event was beautifully designed (as always) by our friends at Pow Wow. They transformed the entire pool courtyard into a luxe desert oasis. Their decor was accented by the sickest custom pillows and towels by Night Shift I could’ve imagined!! Those accessories really made the house “ours.” But my FAVORITE part of the party (and I think everyone else’s too) was when Rosez came out for a surprise performance and sang her hit song “Roses” by the Chainsmokers! (A close second was Post Malone floating around on our pool floaties the following night while his friends DJ’d and drank from a beer bong — you truly never know what you’re gonna get at Coachella!).
One special thing about Coachella for me is that it always falls right around my sister’s birthday, so she usually comes along for the weekend to celebrate! This year she brought along some apparel from the company she works for, The Mountain, and it was HUGE hit among our guests! You can see Kelsey, Liz and Alana wearing their Mountain mini dresses at our party in the pics!
My personal highlights for the weekend were Neon Carnival (as always), Jack U, and just spending time with my friends and enjoying the fruits of all the labor that went into making this weekend happen! I was so drained after I napped every day for the first five days after and I never nap(!!) but it was SO worth it!! Until next year…..

  • Hey Katelynn! This event at Coachella looks so much fun and beautiful too! I’m glad you had an awesome time.

  • Love you blog girl! As a gal living near Chicago that secretly was born to live at the beach, I love your beach pictures, fashion, and positive attitude! BTW love your blonde hair, I drive an hour for my colorist, and get the same color!! Blonde is way more fun! Thanks for letting us Midwesterners live a Cochella through you!! never let anyone tear you down for working hard for what you want!!!

  • Do you feel like your hair is super damaged from the bleach blonde? I’ve been going back and forth wanting to bleach mine for the past two summers…but I’m scared to commit to the chemicals. I already get highlights and have for years. Do you feel like the extreme color is worth the trouble?

    • My colorist had me grow my hair out so it was nearly all “virgin” before we bleached it. She was crazy careful doing it, but even so, there’s some damage (which I expected). I take crazy good care of it so it’s doing alright. I only wash and dry every 4-5 days, I use a hair mask on it overnight once a week, and do very little heat styling. It’s just a commitment if you don’t want your hair to be totally beat up.
